ABOUT TSHWANE SOUTH TVET COLLEGE COURSES

Tshwane South TVET College courses 2023-2024

Tshwane South College for Further Education and Training (TSC) is a public Further Education and Training institution that was established in accordance with the Further Education and Training Act 98 of 1998.

TSC was established in 2001 by the merger of three former Technical Colleges: Atteridgeville, Centurion, and Pretoria West (Notice 7311, Gazette No 240 of December 2001).

TSC acquired her fourth campus (Odi Campus) from Orbit FET College in 2006 as a result of the redrawing of provincial borders. TSC and her counterparts as public institutions have a fundamental mandate to provide South African youth with vocational and occupationally directed skills at an intermediate level of the National Qualifications Framework (NQF), thereby contributing to the abolition of unemployment. Inequality, poverty, and unemployment in South Africa, as well as the country’s economic growth plans.

TSHWANE SOUTH TVET COLLEGE COURSES ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

NC(V) Course Requirements;

  • Students are allowed to study for a maximum of four years for NC (V) Levels 2, 3, and 4 to account for any topic failures.
  • NQF1 (Grade 9) and AET Level 4 are the minimum entry criteria.
  • The NC (V) policy has led and aligned the entry requirements.
    For qualification admission, a point system will be used.

Report 191 Courses Requirements;

  • The NATED Policy establishes minimum entry standards.
    N4 will admit students who have completed Grade 12/NC (V) Level 4.
  • Students who have completed grades 9, 10, 11, or 12 and choose to pursue a career as an artisan will be admitted to N1 on a point system.

Requirements for Occupational Courses

  • Minimum entry requirements based on QCTO/SETA-approved registered Skills Programs/Learnerships
  • To be considered for an Occupational Program, a student who has previously enrolled in NC(V) or Report 191 programmes must have fully completed the NC(V) or Report 191 programme (passed all subjects).

Additional Requirements for Admission

  • The College Council has established new admission requirements for NC(V) level 2, Report 191 N1, and Report 191 N4 using a point system in order to improve the quality and performance of specialised programmes.
