INFORMATION ABOUT NKANGALA TVET COLLEGE
Nkangala TVET College courses 2023-2024
Witbank, Middelburg, Mpondozankomo, and CN Mahlangu campuses (formerly Technical Colleges) in the Nkangala region merged to form Nkangalca TVET College in 2003. Ehlanzen FET College was relocated to Waterval boven Campus in 2011.
In 1996, Parliament passed the FET Act, which formed the college.
The College is the province’s largest educational institution, serving the Mpumalanga village of Nkangala. Rural areas dominate CN Mahlangu and Waterval Boven. The majority of students come from the region’s most densely populated areas, Witbank and Middelburg. The remaining students are from the rural villages of Kwa-Ndebele and Waterval boven. In 2007, 719 NC(V) students and 11,917 Nated 191 students were enrolled in NC(V) programmes. More than 95 percent of our students are from countries other than the United States.
Civil Engineering and Building Construction, Electrical Infrastructure Construction, Engineering and Related Design, Finance, Economics and Accounting, Hospitality, Tourism, Information Technology and Computer Sciences, and Office Administration are the College’s eight NC(V) programmes.
Nated (191) programmes continue to air, and we have a total of seven courses. The Department of Higher Education and Training develops and certifies all programme content.

NKANGALA TVET COLLEGE ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Course Requirements for NC(V);
- Students are allowed to study for a maximum of four years for NC (V) Levels 2, 3, and 4 to account for any topic failures.
- The minimal entrance requirements are NQF1 (Grade 9) and AET Level 4.
- The admission requirements have been driven and coordinated by the NC (V) policy.
- A point system will be utilized to determine qualification admittance.
Requirements for 191 Courses;
- The NATED Policy defines entrance requirements.
- Students who have completed Grade 12/NC (V) Level 4 will be admitted to N4.
- On a point system, students who have finished grades 9, 10, 11, or 12 and choose to pursue a profession as an artisan will be admitted to N1.
Requirements for Occupational Courses;
- Minimum admissions requirements based on registered Skills Programs/Learnerships with the QCTO/SETA.
- Students who have previously participated in NC(V) or Report 191 programs will only be accepted for an Occupational Program if they have completed the whole NC(V) or Report 191 program (passed all subjects).
Additional Admissions Requirements
- In order to improve the quality and performance of specialised programmes, the College Council has developed new admission requirements for NC(V) level 2, Report 191 N1, and Report 191 N4 that use a point system.
