ABOUT MAJUBA TVET COLLEGE
Majuba TVET College is committed to improving and optimising teaching and learning opportunities through the use of cutting-edge technology and innovative teaching methods. The College, which is located in Newcastle, Northern KwaZulu-Natal, plays an important role in our students’ holistic development as part of their workplace preparation.
In addition to Ministerial programmes, such as the National Certificate (Vocational) and Report 191, the College offers NQF-aligned Learnerships (in collaboration with Business and Industry), Skills Programs, and Apprenticeship Training (N1-N6). The College sees itself as an important social partner in achieving the common socioeconomic goals of the local, provincial, and national governments. To that end, the College offers educational and training opportunities, as well as equipping our students with the knowledge and skills they need to be economically active citizens.
Majuba TVET College is the primary provider of technical and vocational education and training in the Amajuba and Umzinyathi Districts.
It serves important industries in these sectors, including iron and steel production, mining (primarily coal), textile and garment manufacturing, cement chemical processing, tyre manufacturing, engineering, and primary agriculture. There are seven campuses spread across the metropolitan areas of Newcastle, Madadeni, and Dundee.
The College offers a wide range of nationally recognised vocational and occupational programmes.

COURSES OFFERED AT MAJUBA TVET COLLEGE
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR MAJUBA TVET COLLEGE COURSES
NC(V) Course Requirements;
In order to account for possible topic failures, students are allowed to study for a maximum of four years for NC (V) Levels 2, 3, and 4.
- NQF1 (Grade 9) and AET Level 4 are the minimum entry criteria.
- The NC (V) policy has led and aligned the entry requirements.
For qualification admission, a point system will be used.
Report 191 Courses Requirements;
- The NATED Policy establishes minimum entry standards.
N4 will admit students who have completed Grade 12/NC (V) Level 4. - Students who have completed grades 9, 10, 11, or 12 and choose to pursue a career as an artisan will be admitted to N1 on a point system.
Occupational Course Requirements;
- Minimum admittance requirements based on QCTO/SETA- approved registered Skills Programs/Learnerships.
- A student who has previously enrolled in NC(V) or Report 191 programs will only be considered for an Occupational Program if they have finished the NC(V) or Report 191 program in its entirety (passed all subjects).
Additional Requirements for Admission
- In order to improve the quality and performance of specialized programs, the College Council has established new admission requirements for NC(V) level 2, Report 191 N1, and Report 191 N4 using a point system.
